Search in two different languages using Google

Posted: 12 Dec 2009 06:06 AM PST

A few days ago I wrote about Google Search allowing you to translate the search query into a different languages. It was brought to my notice that there were other options to do the same on the internet.

2Lingual.com is one such website and I must admit it’s layout is much better than the Google search translate option.

Search with different languages

It has a simplistic interface. It shows up two separate search layouts one next to the other. Near the search bar there is a drop down option to select the language.

In the image above, the links to the left are from the English search while I has selected French on the right side and it has conducted a search of the translated query. :-)

It supports 52 languages seems like a pretty useful tool. Try it out at 2Lingual.com and let me know if you know about similar tools through your comments.

Refresh page automatically with Firefox browser

Posted: 12 Dec 2009 02:26 AM PST

I often use Firefox browser for following the news. One problem with a website dedicated to news is that not all of them refresh automatically.

There is a Firefox addon which refreshes the page automatically can be downloaded from the Firefox Addon page.

Reload page automatically in Firefox browser

  • Once the Firefox addon is installed make sure it is enabled (see image above).
  • The go to the website you want to reload automatically.
  • Now right click on the page and a menu pop up. Here a new option is included which is Reload Every.
  • Move the mouse over Reload Every and it allow you to go ahead and select the exact amount of time you want the page to be reloaded.

Reload page options

As you can see in the image above it allowed me to set the reload time from every 5 seconds to up to 15 minutes. Hope you like this Firefox Addon and let me know if you know about any similar ones. ;-)
