Give Wordpress Design a Shot

Posted: 22 Dec 2009 07:51 AM PST

This article is only intended for newbie or a beginner who wants to premium Wordpress to get trail and error with Wordpress web design. The web designers and experienced users of course expected to participate are required to give input.

When trying to change the interface of premium WordPress blog for first time, I had to try it on my own laptop computer which also functioned as a server with the Slackware Linux Operating System 12. Assisted with Firefox browser plus the extension Web Developer, there was some changes in the network outside the localhost.

Though felt is just right according to personal views, as it's not a web designer who works with the rules and planning concepts that matured as well, finally get a trial and error on themes, widgets, template, until the CSS. :)

There are some steps that can be tried without connecting to the network and there is a need to connect the Internet. At least the extension 'Web Developer' still faithfully help, for example:
  • On the menu 'CSS', we can edit the main CSS or by 'media type' ' handheld ',' print '.
  • In the menu 'Images', we can see the size/dimensions of images used. Considerable help to complete the alt attribute ="...", width ="..." and height ="...". Or try to view blog without pictures. Especially, in order to avoid overlapping background image and text. For example in the event when the background image is not displayed (not perfectly uploaded for the slow connection, or deliberately disable the images), text becomes invisible because it was the same as the background color without an image.
After trying to see the appearance/changes with the extension, the new code is copied to the CSS pleasing or blog template. So we do not have to spend the allocated bandwidth, cost and time to edit the blog connections. More less, with WordPress + 'Web Developer' can also help create a more design-friendly blog users, browsers and search engines but still adopting web standards.

Good luck.
