Easy technique to write skewed text in Photoshop [Tutorial]

In this tutorial, we will see how to cause a text to follow a desired path. We always see texts displayed in a round shape or in the shape of waves. Often we see round rubber stamps or various logos designed in rounded text. To give a desired shape to the text, most of the times, Corel draw or Illustrator is used as a tool of choice. But what about photoshop? Here’s how you do it !

First draw the path of your choice. Select the pen tool(P) to create a path.

Now go to the options bar and select the settings as in the image below.

Draw a round shape on the layer.

Select the Type tool from the tool bar.

Now look at the text type cursor carefully. This is the regular cursor used for text.

Click closer to the rounded path and you can see the change in cursor. It means you can create text on the path.

After that click on the path and type the text as you want and get the result as below.

You can draw any type of shape using the pen tool. Below is an example of a curved line.

I have a lot of friends who travel a lot. One complaint I often hear from them is about how there is very little information about cities they are visiting.

Information like travel routes, some basic interesting places in the city they are touring will actually help people explore more.

I found Must See India quite informative and it seemed to have all the information you would need while travelling in India.

One thing that stands out with the website is that it has more options than one can handle.
I could search for the best bus, plane or train travel details from one place to another.
It also has comprehensive information on almost all places of interest in India.
The portal is split in three parts Search, Explore and Book. I found the Search part quite novel is tours arranged in different themes like hill stations, beaches or historical places.

The next time I decide to plan a vacation, I am surely going to look up MustSeeIndia. I guess it would be beneficial for you to look up if you are planning a trip.

Hilarious Spoof Website takes on Apple Inc

I bumped on to a shareable today which was a picture of an imaginary product that Apple Inc could possibly develop in the near future called Water.

I read the line at the bottom of the picture as many of you might have, and went straight to scoopertino.com to check it out, and was not disappointed one little bit .

Scoopertino is one of the funniest fake news sites I’ve come across in a while. You’ll find tons of fake Apple news that would really make you laugh out loud!

Here’s another article I read on Scoopertino which claims that Apple recently opened a theme park for its fans which drew nearly a million visitors in the first week itself.

Here are some of the rides in the Apple theme park -

This website is a definite treat for all Apple fans as well Apple haters

TrackmyLaptop – Fight Laptop Theft with Internet

If you have ever been a victim of Laptop theft, this is the right time you should inform your friends and relatives of this new initiative by Quick Heal Technologies, an anti-virus company headquartered in Pune (Maharashtra, India).

This initiative is aimed towards growing laptop thefts in India and the police unable to tackle the menace due to low technical know-how and inadequate tracking facilities.

There are many software available which let people safeguard their laptop or netbook against theft by tracking the IP address of any new locations the machine is connected at, including the thief itself.

However this method proved a failure if the criminal does a physical format of the Hard drive before connecting it to the Internet. The software which resides in the Hard disk is no longer able to trace anything due its own existence in vain. Here 'TrackmyLaptop' initiative comes as a savior for both Quick Heal antivirus users and even for non-users.

If you are a Quick Heal user

Your Laptop's MAC ID is already stored in Quick Heal's databases and even after your Hard disk is formatted and in case Quick Heal is re-installed, the installation will automatically send a report alongwith the new IP address and location of the computer.

If you are not a Quick Heal user

You need to visit the website TrackmyLaptop.net after the theft and enter your Laptop's MAC ID. You can enter upto 3 MAC IDs depending on your system's network interfaces. Your entered MAC ID if found in the existing records should mean that either it was recovered by the Law enforcement agencies and the data was uploaded on the website OR Quick Heal was installed as an anti-virus post-theft which automatically updated the database.

Even if you are going to buy a second-hand laptop, it is recommended to use the website and check if the Laptop is not stolen. You can do this very easily by just entering the MAC ID of the Laptop you are going to buy. On methods on how to check the MAC ID of any machine, please click here.

Even though the initiative has come as a great boon to Laptop users, it needs to be promoted well to make it successful. I hope through this post, I will be able to share a word about the initiative with all of you. [Android App] Open Spot makes finding parking space easy

Just today I came across an interesting app on Google Labs "Open Spot", which makes it easier for people to share the exact place of Parking they are going to vacate. This way you can reduce pollution and help people in finding a parking. Obviously you need to promote the use of Open Spot among your friends and neighbours to make it a success story.

Few worth Mentioning Points

The application is available only for mobiles with Android 2.0 or higher.
It is indeed sad for me to tell that this application is presently available only in the US, Canada and the Netherlands. If you are an Indian resident, you will need to wait before Open Spot makes it mark in the country.
Open Spot displays all vacant (marked by other Open Spot users) parking lots within a range of 1.5 kilometres (or 0.9 miles).
Presently, the application has no way to judge whether a user has marked a fake place as empty. But I believe most people would not be playing with such an application!
The map will show you Red-coloured Pins for any freshly marked spots, Orange-coloured pins for any spots marked over 5 minutes ago and Yellow-coloured pins for spots marked over 10 minutes ago. However for any spots marked over 20 minutes ago or more will not show up on your screen.
Confused about those "Karma Points" mentioned on the image? Well those are awarded to you for using the application to mark vacant spots for others. Hence the name "Karma Points"!
Though it is nowhere mentioned on the Official website, I believe the application uses GPS without which this seems impossible.

Since I do not live in the United States, I could not post the Live app screen. However I am including two screenshots provided by Google itself. Let me know if anyone of you try this application and finds some success. Even do tell your friends and relatives in the US about this application.
