Share YouTube HD Videos in HD Format Quickly

YouTube has updated their sharing widget with providing some extra access to share YouTube videos directly in HD format. HD (high definition) has become the most famous nowadays and even mobile phone comes with HD video recording.

Now YouTube offers quick access to sharing videos in HD format. On clicking the Share button, you can see an extra option to select from YouTube link or short url.

It’s pretty nice idea to share HD quality videos directly in HD format with friends and family. You can share this on most famous social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Google Buzz, Myspace, Orkut, Hi5 and Blogger etc.

Pakistan court wants ban on Google, Hotmail and Yahoo

Pakistan has recently had a bit of a love hate relationship with the internet and companies that provide internet services. First Pakistan had banned Facebook over a controversy and then also ended up putting the clamps on Twitter, YouTube and Wikipedia.

Most people think bans do not serve any purpose as in today’s time the internet is very symbiotic and content is not always URL specific. It is usually shared across various mediums which might end up making the ban pretty ineffective.

According to a report in Times of India, a Bhawalpur bench of Lahore High Court ordered Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, Amazon, YouTube and Bing to be blocked or banned on a petition against these websites that they were publishing sacrilegious material.

The Pakistani authorities have not carried out the court order suggesting it has not received the orders but heard about it through media reports.

Hopefully these websites will not be blocked in Pakistan as such objectionable material is often unnoticed until its banned or a issue is raised. This I guess is probably counter productive.

Firefox 3.6.4 Adds Crash Protection & Fixes Vulnerabilities

The latest security and stability release for Mozilla Firefox 3.6.4 provides crash protection for Windows and Linux users by isolating third-party plugins when they crash. There are more than 400 million firefox users and this update fixes more than 225 bugs with crash protection technology from the Mozilla Lorentz Project.

This crash protection works just like chrome that prevents flash, silver-time crashes from bringing down your entire browser.

Actually this technology works on full process isolation to Firefox, and it separates web pages from plugins. Plugins would run separate from the main browser, so that when there is a crash, with the process isolation, the rest of the browser is unaffected by the failure. Currently, crash protection only works for Adobe Flash, Apple QuickTime and Microsoft Silverlight on Windows and Linux systems.

As for now, the update is not for Mac OS X users and its currently in developing stage. Windows and linux users are benefited from crash protection technology.

Bing Adds Full Music, Movies, Games and TV Shows

Bing has done one of the biggest investments on the area of entertainment. As you all know, we use mostly search engines for finding out things that entertain us mostly such as music search, movies, games or tv shows. Bing has started rolling out more than 100 new features on the search engine, Bing Entertainment. It adds more than 100 new features that would help us to better search for music, movies, tv shows and games.

More over the partnership with Zune will let you to stream full length songs more than 5 million songs. You can also get photos, videos, and even tour dates for your favorite acts.

2nd Feature – Gaming :

Bing provides more detailed information on over 35,000 games, including in depth reviews, cheats and walkthroughs for all your favorite games. You can just play more than 100 popular games online safely from right within Bing.

3rd Feature – Movies :

Bing brings together all of the information and tools you need to get to the movie right from Reviews, Pros, cons, real time facebooka and twitter information, nearby restaurants and even parking information from Bing Maps etc.

4th Feature – TV shows :

Their stats tells us 30% of people watch all of their TV episodes online, and over 60% of people have used a search engine to look for full-length TV shows online. So Bing collects full length TV episodes and visually organized them for easier search. With thousands of episodes from over 1500 shows including lots of HD content, watching your favorite shows online is easier than ever before.

Ultimately, the use of this new feature is you spend less time searching for entertainment and more time doing the stuff you love.

Google Voice is now available to everyone in the US

Google Voice will not be available to everyone with a Google account unlike before when it was available to only limited users. This is at the moment only limited to US users and not all over the world.

This apart for giving headaches to Skype and other similar services will also help a lot of Google account owners especially if they are looking for alternatives for Skype.

Google Voice is a service which will allow users to receive calls on their landlines, cellphones and computer with one single Google Voice number.

What is more amazing is that someone using Google Voice can check voice messages along with check text transcripts on a mobile phone and reply with a text message.

If thinking out of the box is Google’s forte then with Google Voice they are way out of the box. Similar services do exist but as Android is getting more popular Google Voice might just be the next big success for Google. Skype would have to watch out here.
