Split Screen is an extension for google chrome that lets you browse two websites within a single tab of your browser. The extension splits your browser into two windows, where you can separately enter url’s and surf effectively. This extension can be really helpful on wide screen monitors, which will give you endless real world uses.

iTunes to get a competitor in the form of Google Music

Apple rules the music industry with iPod the device and iTunes the virtual music store. Apple has basically expanded its domain with iPhones and iPad. Google has never been crossing paths with Apple as it is now. Its main competitors were Yahoo and Microsoft when it came to search and email services.

Then came the Android and the Nexus phone which was basically a step into Apple’s territory. Now Google has decided to launch a new service according to TechCrunch.

We had written long about how Google was moving into music with its music search tools. Ofcourse even Yahoo then got into music search but I doubt they will create an online store to compete with iTunes or Google Music.

This is quite a risk for Google to take on Apple so directly but then iTunes is after a online business and Google is the online giant which probably wants to spread out in one of the last frontiers left on the internet to conquer.

Customize Google search page’s background with A6

Recently I wrote about how Google is introducing customized images which can be included as backgrounds which can replace the white plain background of the Google search page. This will pretty much make Google resemble Bing search but I think such customization to Google was long overdue.

Atleast one website thought so and has already brought many skins which can be used as the background image for your Google search homepage.

It was easy to just visit the page and look through many galleries with awesome photographs as background with the Google search bar in the middle of it. Type in your search query and results show up without the background image.
The background you actually like can also be saved as your homepage on the browser you are using.
Unlike the new Google feature this will not need signing into your Google account at all.
