A lot of blogs, websites and services introduce new themes, designs and offer freebies usually around festive times like Christmas and New Year. I often use MSN Messenger which Microsoft has rechristened Live Messenger more than a year ago. Its quite handy and at times I even use it as a Twitter client.

SEO Blogger: Research your keyword in 2 minutes!!

If you are running a blog, then I think you may have a knowledge about SEO (Search Engine Optimization). SEO is very important for every blogger and all must have to adopt it in there blogs for getting good amount of traffic.

Keyword Research is also a part of SEO, but most of the bloggers have neglected this aspect because of it's a time-consuming process or they may don't have sufficient knowledge about power of using keywords in there post.

Google AdWords keyword tool and word tracker are the most popular online site used to research good keyword. Both are free tools and really gives good result. There are various wordpress plugins that too helps in SEO buliding.

But if we need a keyword suggestion from a website, then we must leave current page and need to search for the keyword. This is one of the most annoying thing. Here is an add-on, which is launched by one of the most popular keyword research site called WordTracker.com and named it as "SEO Blogger".

SEO Blogger:

Most of the bloggers are unaware of this must have add-on. It can help you to research a good keyword in the current page itself! yes, it's true. We may not need to visit any site to get keyword ideas. All the keyword suggestion will be displayed where you are.

How to use SEO Blogger:

Download SEO Blogger add-on from the Word Tracker
After installation click “ctrl+shift+W” or look at the bottom of the browser you will see "W" icon click on that.
In the same page you will see the keyword Research option

In the Enter a word box enter your keyword and click search, within a few seconds you will get the result in the below column.
Click Add button which appears in the Right side and start writing your post
In the below column i.e. "Your Chosen Keywords" will start displaying how many times you used the selected keyword in the post.

Pros:

Saves time.
We can track how many times we used the targeted keyword in the post .
Easy to use user interface.

Cons:

It displays only one ad.

Use Email to control Twitter and Facebook

Sharing and cross-sharing of information across platforms is the new trend and very useful if you want to cover various forums to disseminate information. For a blogger it is vital to distribute links to their posts across various platforms. Here is where I found Flexamail quite handy. It is a service which allows you to send and retrive information to Twitter and Facebook without even the need to visit any webpage. All you need is to log into your email account.

About Flexamail?

First I needed to register with Flexamail with my Email Id.
The I had to configure with my username and password for Facebook and Twitter.
Finally I was set to start using Twitter and Facebook with my Email account.

How does it work?

When I sent a email to particular email address of Flexamail I could send a tweet and update my Facebook wall.
What I type in the subject line is sent over as a tweet while what is in the body of the email message is posted on your Facebook Wall.
It also has other options to check 10 recent wall updates, 20 tweets from friends and also helpful in sharing images.

fbwall@flexamail.com (sends email body as post on Facebook Wall)

Blogger$ of the Month temporarily goes away

Its been 7 months since we started Blogger of the Month contest as an initiative to provide a mature blogging platform to young and newbie bloggers. Time and again we came up with few changes in the contest format to increase the quality of the competition. Thus far we have succeeded to achieve the objective of Community Blogging through this contest.

But in the past couple of months there have been alot of incidents of copy pasting from guest authors. It was hurtful for our editors to ban these guest authors completely from our network. This in-turn increased alot of workload on the editors and on me too

Now since Devils Workshop is undergoing the process of complete makeover, we thought this would be a good time to get a new and mature format for the Blogger$ of the month contest. So we are pausing the contest for the next few months.

When the contest starts again?

For the next couple of months we will have alot of brainstorming with the data and statistics that we have so far. The idea would be to have an format which should be more apt and relative to previous results of the contest.

Hopefully we will come up with the format which meets all our expectations and start the contest in next couple of months.

Please send in any suggestions or feedbacks for the contest via comments, as it would be very helpful to determine the contest’s future.
