Google Docs Viewer Supports 12 New Formats Posted: 18 Feb 2011 02:10 PM PST Using the Quick view facility from Google Docs to view links on the Internet as well your email attachments without even downloading a local copy makes things so easy on the Internet. This saves time and securely let you view Microsoft Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and PDF files. Google has now added support for 12 new file formats as below: 12 New supported Extensions
In Gmail, now onwards when you receive an email, attachments with the new extensions will include a 'view' link. The similar behaviour will take place just like you view various PDFs over the web. Do post your comments on how Google really understands user needs and work towards that direction.

4 New Life-changing Technologies! Posted: 18 Feb 2011 09:00 AM PST I was thinking about the time when I had to go to a cyber-cafe to access Internet at a pretty high cost, that too time-based. I even switched to another cyber-cafe as it was using ‘ISDN’ technology. And today if you think about Internet and Netbooks, about iPhone & iPad, everything has changed so much, can be termed as Life-changing. Now, I am going to discuss 4 similar Life-changing technologies of the present decade. USB 3.0 (Superspeed USB)What about USB providing 10 times the speed it provides now? In absolute terms, USB 3.0 will provide a speed upto 4.8 gigabits per second as compared to the present speed of upto 480 megabits per second. Woooah, isn't that super cool? Wireless Power TransmissionOh! Are you not much impressed with the idea of Power without wires, or are you just nervous about the effects it may cause to your bones! The research for this exciting & 'life-changing' technology is going at MIT and Intel. In just about 7-8 years, you may be using this probably to charge your Laptop at the Airport Mobile 'Assistant'With the pace people are buying mobile phones, it is not long when almost everyone will have a Personal assistant. With software sector booming and hardware evolving to provide users the best, things have not really been like the past. People already use their mobile phones as assistants to find their way, locate themselves, just speak instead of talking and lot more. 128-bit ComputingAre you still using a 32-bit computer but even aware of a 64-bit processor? A 64-bit computer (Windows) allows your system to have upto 192 GB RAM due to its enhanced addressing ability. What’s interesting is the 128-bit processors which are under evolution. Don't you think these are life-changing? Please do comment on what you think about the above concepts as they are just not an imagination, but in fact a reality! Related posts:

Google wants your Delicious Bookmarks! [Online Tool] Posted: 18 Feb 2011 06:58 AM PST A couple of months ago Yahoo slipped up and news came out that Delicious was to close down. Then came the denial and Yahoo declared, that it was only going to sell Delicious and not shut it down. Confusion reigned and most people who love delicious bookmarks (yours truly included) must be cursing the day Yahoo took it over. Back in January I wrote about an online tool, which I thought was the best way to move your bookmarks from Delicious to Google. Today, Google released a new online tool as part of Google Bookmarks, which will allow Delicious bookmarks to be imported to Google. Why move to Google Bookmarks?
This will help Google a lot, because they have fallen behind when it comes to online bookmarking. This mainly being due to the fact, that Delicious had already cornered the market there. Online bookmarks are actually a good indicator for showing what people really value on the net compared to the links shared on Facebook and Twitter. Will you be using Google Bookmarks? Do drop in your comments. Link: Google Bookmarks Delicious Import Related posts:

Trunk.ly – Organize and find all your shared links on Facebook, Twitter, Delicious Posted: 18 Feb 2011 03:35 AM PST A few months ago, I came across a link about King Arthur and his Knights around the round-table. As I work for rtCamp, a company that believes in the round-table philosophy, I shared this link with my colleagues on Twitter. Actually, I was not sure if it was Twitter or Facebook. Unfortunately I had not saved it on Delicious at that point of time and now I was having a tough time finding this link. I came across Trunk.ly, a website which allows organizing and searching of all the links that you might have shared on Twitter, Facebook, Delicious and even Google Reader. Trunk.ly Features
I share many links on Facebook and Twitter. Because of the nature of these two website, the links I share can differ vastly. But after months things seem to merge and I might not know how to look up for that odd link I had shared. This is where Trunk.ly is going to be a big help. Do try out Trunk.ly and drop in your comments about it. Link: Trunk.ly Related posts:

[Google] Social search makes your search more user-friendly! Posted: 17 Feb 2011 11:30 PM PST
What if while searching on Google, the things what your friends upload, write or share is given preference among the results shown to you. This is exactly what Google has now done with its flagship domain, i.e. Google.com. The results will now include similar entries shared or uploaded by your friends and people who are connected with you through any public services like Twitter, Blogger, Flickr and though I am not sure, I think should be Facebook too! You can even see the name of your connection (friend) who shared or uploaded the specific entry, so that your eyes immediately focus over the specific results. Google has now even made it easy to connect to more accounts privately using your Google Account, however you can still add them publicly on your Google profile. [Note: I have included pictures from the Google's official blog as we still need to wait for the real-time effects till Google completely rolls-out the new features] A video explains about Google Social search Source: Google Blog Post Related posts:

Flattr: a revolutionary micro-payment system! Posted: 17 Feb 2011 10:30 PM PST Times have changed and even people in countries like India feel like appreciating Free stuff which they use with some small donations. People around the World especially the users in the western countries already donate generously for small as well as big efforts, for e.g. Mozilla, Wikipedia and small app developers. People still feel what if they are able to donate some very small amounts to a lot of such developers and organizations, as PayPal and other processors makes it virtually impossible to transfer any amount less than US$1. This is the reason Flattr came to existence. Flattr's concept itself is derived from the problem people face in appreciating small but a lot of efforts. It let people credit their accounts with a smallest monthly donation of 2 Euros and then just clicking a button on the developer's website fulfils the wishes. Flattr is a give and get concept, you must donate to get something in return. While the return completely depends on the number of clicks on your Flattr button, your donation can still remain the tiny 2 Euros. Flattr charges 10% of whatever amount you receive in donations to keep itself running. Check out the video to get a very nice explanation. This video clearly explains what is Flattr! Please do comment on what you feel about such small websites creating a massive change in today's world, in the way things operate and what else can be done to bring more such changes. Don't be late, I'll be waiting to hear from you LINK: Flattr Website Related posts:
