4 Tweaks to make your PC start faster! Posted: 16 Feb 2011 06:30 PM PST No one in the entire World would like their PC to load slowly and wait for the Desktop to show up in a slow fashion. This is against the notion that a PC boot-up time is completely dependent on the Processor and RAM installed. The start-up time is very well affected because of user-activities and the 'junk' we install on our system. Let us now see how we can let our PC take a sigh of relief. BIOS Tweaks
Windows Tweaks
Step 1 Step 2 (Going to the Startup tab) Step 3 (See the marked area which is Yahoo Search protection. This is often not required and gets installed when you install Yahoo Messenger. Disable it and apply the settings.) Looking forward to hear from you all, if you do have suggestions to improve PC boot up, do post your comments here! Related posts:

Google Chrome extension to fight content farms! Posted: 16 Feb 2011 03:07 AM PST Spam has been ever rising on the Internet and Google finds itself lonely fighting content farms hosting low and pathetic content. Now it has realized the need to fight this menace together with users and hence developed a Chrome extension called Personal Blocklist. The extension shall work only for Google Chrome users at present and shall let them block malicious and spam listings directly from Google results. Such blocked results shall never appear again in their search in the future. However this does not mean that the result itself shall be blocked throughout Google servers. That is not going to happen, instead any blocked results shall be automatically reported to Google and it will just guide the company's staff to filter and decide things accordingly. After blocking that website, see what happens: Users can even unblock or edit a blocked website directly from their Chrome toolbar using the extension icon as commonly done. We all hope Google finds this a way out to filter most of the spam on Earth and our search becomes spam free. Drop in your comments and let me know if you are using this new extension. Wisestamp – A browser addon to create email signature! Posted: 15 Feb 2011 09:45 PM PST Do you always feel that your Email signature is dull, boring and lot of words I am not including here? If that is so, why not try a small but interesting tool Wisestamp which will let you decide what and how your signature should be like in an easy manner. The tool works for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, though I did personally try it only for Chrome. My initial experience with Wisestamp made it look like something confusing, probably because I did not opt for the Tour it offers to its new users. However when I later started digging in my heads, I found it out to be an interesting and easy tool. You can save two different email signatures at a time, namely – "Personal" and "Business". There are many different functionalities you can include within your signature, most of them just needs you to enter your ID (remember no password is required). For e.g. you can include your Latest Twitter post in your new emails or even in your reply to emails by just adding the Twitter service and entering your Twitter ID. Other services include RSS feed to your blog, Blogger, WordPress, Deviantart, Stumbleupon, eBay, Digg and lot more. I do hope that this tool will prove useful to you in managing your email signature as now even I am using it for my regular mail conversations. Trust me, it is good! LINK: Wisestamp Related posts:
