If you are a website admin you will be aware of many websites and services to carry out different ways to ping your website or even your computer or the IP provided to you by your ISP. Also there are many online tools which help you carry out a ‘whois‘ query on any URL.

IP Tools is a great website which has all things you require when it comes to looking up and playing around with IP addresses.

About IPTools

IPTools has a large suite of IP related tools. Some of the most obvious ones are it looks up your IP and displays it.
The other obvious tools included are looking up Ping, IP to Country, trace route and whois look-up.
There are other neat tools which allowed me to to email address and check if the domain offers free internet. Very useful if you see an email id with a interesting domain and want to check if the domain allows free email service.

Yesterday Wordpress released most awaited Wordpress 3.0 and we are covering it on our Wordpress blog wpveda. Since we have made all our blogs as niche blog and wpveda is our niche blog for Wordpress related tutorials and news. Many of you who follow Devils' Workshop, might be expecting Wordpress 3.0 posts here, should not be disappointed and you can check out all the posts which we covered at WpVeda.

Before I add links to all the posts, let me give you an overview of Wordpress 3.0. Wordpress 3.0 is released under code name Thelonious. It is loaded with default Wordpress theme Twenty ten and more over Wordpress 3.0 is merger between Wordpress MU and stand-alone Wordpress.

Wordpress 3.0 released with new default theme

Wordpress 3.0 has been released lately and it was codenamed ‘Thelonius‘ probably after a Jazz artist Thelonious Monk. The name ‘Thelonious‘ also means ‘leader of the people’. Considering Wordpress being a open source phenomenon this name seems to be quite appropriate.

The name apart, Wordpress 3.0 has ringed in quite a few changes and added a lot of new features along with a much more viewer friendly default theme.

The first thing that makes Wordpress 3.0 different from its predecessors is that offers a new API and also integration of Wordpress and MU.

This upgrade is quite a new and was widely anticipated. Click on its download counter page which displays the number of times Wordpress 3.0 has been downloaded.

Wordpress 3.o does have also the option of giving you a URL shortner with your domain name and has a new default theme called 2010 which is a pleasant departure from is previous default themes.
