When it comes to looking up a new mobile phone or a book online, the first thing we look for is how to get the cheapest deal for it. Also rather than looking up individual sites and their listings, it would be really nice to look up and compare prices at one place.

With MySmartPrice we can look up the cheapest and best deals on mobile phones and books. The site looks up the best deals from several Indian online stores.

I really liked the search features of this website when it came to looking up mobile phones.
The mobile phones could be searched individually or one can browse through results on a manufacturer.

Personally I liked this section a lot because it is very hard to look up good deals for books. Most times a not so popular book is not even available.

[Update] Skype service goes down!

A few minutes ago tried to go on Skype to catch up with some friends online. I could not login and looked up on Twitter on if the service was down. The service is indeed down and many users are not able to use Skype.

This can mean significant loss of revenues as I am sure during the holiday season a lot of people must be looking to make calls to their near and dear ones.

Skype on the other hand tweeted

Our engineers and site operations team are working non-stop to get things back to normal – thanks for your continued patience

This will interesting as Skype has been struggling with the rise of Google Talk offering free calls. Also with new integration with Facebook, Skype has gained more users and they might not be completely ready technically. We will only have to wait and see.

Update:

Skype updated on its website that it had infrastructure issues and their engineers are now creating super-nodes to make sure all their users can use their service like always. They claim that things are normal but we will have to wait and see as I know quite a few who still have problems going online with Skype.

YouTube Feature Enables You To Share Video From Any Point of Time

Sometimes we want to share or send the video that should start playing from certain point of time, avoiding unwanted part of the beginning so that one can enjoy only the important part of it. However YouTube has a newly added feature, it appears when you right-click your mouse button on any YouTube video. Until you could do this manually by appending #t=1m15s or #t=70 to a YouTube URL.

Pause the YouTube video at any point of time, right-click select option Copy video URL at current time from the context menu to copy URL to clipboard. Share or send it to your friend to watch the video that begins from the point you copied.

You can link directly to a certain point inside a YouTube video instead of playing the whole video from the beginning. Whenever someone clicks your YouTube link, he gets the video to the exact point in its timeline. Its a nice feature that saves your time as well as internet usage.
